Also nominated were Kelsea Ballerini, the Chainsmokers, Maren Morris and Anderson .Paak.

The Chicago rapper, whose “Coloring Book” has obvious spiritual influences, said, “Glory be to God, I claim this victory in the name of the Lord.”

Solange Wins First Grammy For Best R&B Performance

Solange has won Best R&B Performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. “Cranes in the Sky” beat out Rihanna, BJ the Chicago Kid, Ro James, and Musiq Soulchild. It was Solange’s sole Grammy nomination for anything off her album A Seat at the Table, which we named listed as the No. 1 album of 2016.

Messy Mya's Estate Sues Beyonce For Uncleared Sample In Formation

A year after the song first debuted at the Superbowl the Estate of Messy Mya also know as Anthony Barré is suing Beyonce for using a sample of the popular slain personalities voice in her Formation video.

Barré’s estate claims Beyonce straight-up ripped the deceased artist’s “I like that” phrase without permission … and then went on to make millions off the track. Barré, a YouTube star, was shot and killed in 2010. 

The estate goes on to claim they tried talking to Beyonce about the sample … but says she blew them off.

Frank Ocean Sued By His Dad For Defamation

The father of Grammy award winning singer Frank Ocean is suing his son.

Ocean – who has openly spoken of romances he has had with men – wrote a piece on his blog about hearing the word transgender for the first time.

The piece was published on his blog and was a response to the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting in which 49 LGBTI were targeted and murdered.

‘I was 6 years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a f****t as he dragged me out of a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn’t be served because she was dirty,’ Ocean wrote.

Lil Mo Fired From Radio Show After Defending Chrisette Michelle

Lil Mo has been let go from DC’s ‘The FAM in the Morning’. The R&B singer confirmed the news Thursday afternoon on her Twitter account.

“ToMorrow. NYC. Since I GOT FIRED and was HUMBLY REQUESTED “please don’t disparage us on social…, ” she wrote promoting an upcoming appearance in New York.

Apparently Mo didn’t know she was being axed from the show. No word on why, but the news comes on the heels of her defending her good pal Chrisette Michelle for performing at Trump’s Inauguration.
